Just short of ten years after V-E Day, the end of World War II in Europe, three of the four occupying powers (the U.S., the U.K., and France) granted West Germany its sovereignty; four days later, this "Federal Republic of Germany" joined NATO.  On the other side:  the "Democratic Republic of Germany," East Germany, and the USSR.

BILLY BOWERS PANTS & BELT: STREET FASHIONS

BILLY BOWERS

PANTS & BELT

from

Condé Nast

"The Rolling Stones were known for their love of outrageous pants, and this pair by one of their preferred designers, Billy Bowers, would have surely earned their approval. This one-of-a-kind pair of fly trousers (shown with a belt) came from the Caprice boutique in Boston. The photograph, by Gwendolyn Stewart, appeared in the October 20, 1976, issue of Women's Wear Daily."
